About us

Independent since 1986

Three Bridge Street, and the same door for nearly forty years

Who we are

Owned and run by the people who will value your home

Lednor & Company was established in 1986 and is independently owned and operated by Andrew Barber, who has well over thirty years of experience in the industry.

“I started in the industry back in 1981 and have worked in the local area ever since. I joined Lednor & Company as a business partner in 1995 and took over sole ownership after Martyn Lednor’s untimely passing in January 2012.”

“My philosophy is to combine the best marketing ideas of the large corporate agencies with the local knowledge and personal touch that an independent agent can provide, supported by knowledgeable, enthusiastic and experienced colleagues, all based in the busy heart of Bishop’s Stortford.”

“Over the last thirty years we have built up a name synonymous with honesty and reliability. That has led to many clients returning to us again and again, as well as numerous well received recommendations.”

What that means in practice

Four things we do differently

01

One point of contact

The person who values your home is the person who shows buyers around it and the person who rings you with an offer. No handovers.

02

Honest figures

We would rather lose an instruction than win it on a number we cannot achieve. An over-priced launch costs you more than a realistic one.

03

Proper marketing

Professional photography, a premium brochure, and presence on the portals that matter. Not a phone snap and a one-line description.

04

We live here

Four decades of selling the same streets. We know which catchment runs where and which cul-de-sac goes under offer in a weekend.

Testimonials and financial services

Independent mortgage advice through local brokers, with no obligation, and a wall of reviews from people who have moved with us. Both are a short conversation away.
